Virtual DJ 8 is finally here! After nearly 3 years waiting for this update, Atomix (the company behind Virtual DJ) have finally made it available to owners of a Virtual DJ Pro license.
Unlike the previous major version updates (i.e. Virtual DJ 6 to Virtual DJ 7, Virtual DJ 5 to Virtual DJ 6, etc.), Virtual DJ 8 has been completely rebuild from scratch. This was the main reason for the long wait.
Some of the new features include an innovative Sandbox (which allows you to fully “test” your mix, including effects, before actually performing it live), a new Sampler (which allows you to play multiple sounds/videos/images simultaneously alongside the tune you are currently playing), and various new Editors (such as the Automix Editor, Track Editor, and Sample Editor).
The Sound Engine was also one of the components that was given a major overhaul, in order to take advantage of modern computing technologies. This now means that sounds are crystal clear with less chance of glitches.
For more details on all the new features and enhancements, please check out the Virtual DJ website.
I’ve been playing around with this new version, and I must say I am extremely impressed! It is everything I had expected, and a lot more!
So if you are an owner of a Pro license, go grab the new Virtual DJ 8 here!
